Medical Surgical Nursing Department

The Department of Medical Surgical Nursing deals with courses related to adult health nursing including geriatrics within the framework of the Indian Nursing council. The students attain insight into knowledge based upon the advanced philosophical curriculum & they are trained to apply the same into clinical practice. The clinical services of the department include clinical supervision of students, patient care, in-service education, conducting awareness programs, health screening, clinical administration and research activities. The services are rendered in various areas of KIMS Hospital that include: general medical & surgical wards, out-patient departments, specialty wards, critical care units, intensive care units, operating rooms, diagnostic and procedural areas.
Child Health Nursing Department
e vision of department of Child Health Nursing is to train the nursing students to provide high technology nursing care to the neonates & children. Develop students with full pledged knowledge, skill and attitude in nursing education, administration and research through unified leadership in the field of Child Health Nursing.
Mental Health Nursing Department
The Department of Mental Health Nursing has adequate facilities for teaching - learning activities and research work for the undergraduate and postgraduate nursing students. UG & PG students are posted for clinical experience in KIMs Hospital & ASHA Hospital and are exposed to other areas of mental health field by field visits. Our vision is to provide best nursing education that combines continuous quality and improvement, current technology and cost effective methods of assessing and improving student performance in learning and rendering compassionate patient care in our field.
Community Health Nursing Department
The department actively participates in training and conducting research in the field of community health nursing. The field training is imparted to UG & PG Nursing students in both rural and urban areas. The RHTC provides preventive, curative, rehabilitative and referral services to the residents of 11 villages The urban health experience is provided under the umbrella of Urban Health and Training Centre of KIMS at Panagal. The department actively participates in all National Health programmes implemented by Government of India and State government. The department laboratory with a floor area of 600 sq.ft, has an excellent infrastructure to aid teaching and learning activities.
Midwifery & Obstetrical Nursing Department
The Department of Midwifery & Obstetrics Nursing is endowed with the infrastructure required to learn the full spectrum of Midwifery & Obstetrics Nursing care for nursing students. Experienced nursing faculty members are an added strength to the department. The department train students to incorporate nursing process through logical / critical thinking and decision making in various obstetric settings by ensuring culturally sensitive family centered holistic nursing care. Aims to empower women along with their family to preserve and promote health through health education and counseling. Faculty & students participate in the collaborative care & execute research and innovative activities for social and professional development.
Research and CNE Cell
Research cell is an integral part of the research and CNE activities of KIMS College of Nursing. This cell is one of the wings of the college which facilitates, channelizes, records and regulates all the academic and collaborative research projects of the Diploma, UG & PG students and the Faculty of the college. The Key goal of the department is to provide a creative atmosphere in which research & publication of the research work thrive amongst the faculty and students. The cell guides the group projects taken up by Diploma & UG students, as well as individualized research studies conducted by the Faculty and PG students.
